Step By Step Migration Guide
A practical, step-by-step walkthrough to help you smoothly transition from OCM to Content Lion.
Things You’ll Need:
- Your OCM credentials (username and password)
- URL for your instance
Please ensure that your OCM user account has admin access to the instance to ensure that all pieces will be migrated over.
Pre-Migration Steps
- Make sure your sites on OCM are compiled
- Make sure that you have a Mane created in your Content Lion Den
- Make sure that you have the appropriate role in Content Lion to migrate content (Den Admin)
Starting a New Migration
- In your Den, navigate to the Migration tab from the side menu, then click Start Migration.
- Choose the mane you’d like to migrate your OCM content to.
- Input your OCM credentials.
- Let the migration go and the files and assets flow!
While a migration is running, you can view the total duration of the migration and a count of how many files are being transferred in the migration list. Clicking on the item will open a panel with more detailed information of the content being transferred, including any issues that may occur during the transfer.
Re-migrating an Instance
You can re-run a previous migration at any time after a successful or failed migration. To do so, select it from the list and click the Re-Migrate button. If your authorization token to connect to the instance is expired, you’ll have to log in to OCM again before the migration can be run.
