Adding Mane Users

Manage and configure Mane Users for your site.

Mane roles control the features and capabilities a user has in a Content Lion Mane. Within a Mane, there are eight different roles:

  • Mane Administrator: The most powerful Mane role. Mane admins have all the capabilities of the other roles plus the ability to handle their Mane’s user management and grant permissions to resources in the Mane
  • Content Administrator: This role has full CRUD (create, read, update, delete) capabilities of all asset repositories
  • Content Administrator Lite: This role has full CRUD capabilities over any repo where they are a Manager
  • Site Administrator: This role has full CRUD capabilities over all sites
  • Site Administrator Lite: This role has full CRUD capabilities of any site where they are a Manager
  • Developer Administrator: This role has full CRUD capabilities over all developer components
  • Developer: This role has full CRUD capabilities over any developer component where they are a Manager
  • Enterprise User: This role grants basic user access into a Content Lion Mane

When any administration role is selected, general or “lite” access is also enabled

How to Create Mane Users

Step 1: Navigate to the User Management page in Den Administration Portal

Go to the Mane user search bar and type in a name. An option to create a new user will appear; select this option to open the new user creation page.

Step 2: Add the user’s information

Fill out the user’s first name, last name, and email. Optionally, you can also add title, phone number, department, and profile image.

Step 3: Assign Mane roles (optional)

Select one of the following roles for the user if needed. By default, Enterprise user—the most basic role for Mane access—is automatically applied.

  • Mane Admin
  • Content Admin
  • Content Admin Lite
  • Site Admin
  • Site Admin Lie
  • Developer Admin
⚠️

Assign the lowest level of access necessary to maintain security. For more information about each role, see the Mane roles page.

💡

Alternatively, roles can be assign to a group and users can inherit those roles by being added as a member

Step 4: Save the User

Click Save to create the new user account. The user will receive an invitation to access the system and will be prompted to set their password upon first login.
