Creating a Publishing Channel
Learn how to set up and configure a publishing channel.
The concept of a channel is central to how content is delivered and managed across different platforms in Content Lion. A channel is essentially a delivery endpoint or a distribution path through which content is made available to users, applications or systems. It defines where and how your content is delivered to external consumers.
In short, a channel is the bridge between the content stored in the system and the user or applications that consume it, allowing flexible, targeted, and consistent content delivery across multiple platforms.
Example Channel Use Case
Imagine that Company A has a corporate website and a mobile app and they want to publish content to both:
- Website Channel: Publishes rich media, blogs, and product pages optimized for desktop users
- Mobile App Channel: Publishes the same content but in a format optimized for mobile devices, maybe with smaller images and shorter text
Both channels pull from the same content repository, but deliver content differently
